With the amazing weather we have today, it's a great day to visit the museum and take a walk on the trail. The museum is open from 9-4 every day except Sunday and Monday. Admission is $4 for the general public, $2 for Halifax county residents, and kids 8 and under are free!

Our next lecture will be on Wednesday, March 23 at 6:30pm. Dr. Greg Taylor, professor of history at Chowan University and author of The History of the North Carolina Communist Party, will present "It’s About Time: Race, Class, Gender, and the 1960s Ethos that Facilitated Unionization in the Textile Mills of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina".  Preparations for the "Roanoke Valley in the 1960's" event in May are in full swing! 3 days of food, fun, and music! On May 12th, we will be debuting a brand new exhibit at the museum showcasing the 1960's. May 13th will be the premier of a documentary created by students at Roanoke Rapids High School, and will be shown at the school. And on May 14th we will be having a huge outdoor concert here on the museum lawn. We'll have some great 60's music, food, fellowship and plenty of fun! All access passes are on sale, and cost $10 each. With an all access pass, you get admission to all 3 events, and VIP seating at the concert. Individual tickets for each event will go on sale on April 1st, and will cost $5 each. We are really excited and hope you will come join us for what promises to be a great 3 days!
