Upcoming events preview

We have several upcoming events at the Museum that we are really excited about. Our major event coming up is our 3 day 1960's event. Students from Roanoke Rapids High School are working really hard to create an amazing experience that's sure to be a great time for all ages. There will be an exhibit, a documentary film, and a concert! All access passes go on sale March 1st, and will be $10 each. The all access pass gets you into all 3 events, but we have a limited amount of passes, so be ready to get yours! Individual tickets to events will be $5 each per event.

Our next lecture is coming up on March 23rd, at 6:30pm. Dr. Greg Taylor, professor of history at Chowan University and author of The History of the North Carolina Communist Party, will present  "It’s About Time: Race, Class, Gender, and the 1960s Ethos that Facilitated Unionization in the Textile Mills of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina". This is sure to be a great and informative lead in to our 1960's weekend, so call (252) 537-2769 to reserve your spot. Admission is $4 for the general public and $3 for friends of the canal.

The mountain biking club is set to begin riding again on March 23rd. More information will be coming soon.

Join us on April 16th and 17th for "A Walk on the Trail with Dr. Riddick and Mrs. Alice Ricks". This tour is specifically designed for wildflower lovers, so call (252) 537-2769 and reserve your spot today. Space on the tour is limited!

Our April lecture will be presented by Christopher Wright, humanities professor at Halifax Community College, and will be titled "The Music of the 1960s". Another exciting lead in to our 60's weekend!
